The Girls’ section celebrated the day in the form of a ‘Kavi Sammelan’ or a gathering of poets. The poems, judiciously interspersed with songs, shed light on the different aspects of freedom. The Sammelan ended with a final tableau as all the poets took a bow, reciting, in the varied tongues of this vast nation, the message of unity and hope. The poets were succeeded by dancers dancing to the strains of ‘Mile sur mera tumhara’ showcasing the classical art forms of our country.
The boys from Prep to standard X celebrated Cultural Day, which included enactments of the lives of many freedom fighters such as Mangal Pandey, Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi and many more. They also performed songs and dances which were a pleasant addition to the show.
The girls from the Preparatory section too put up a colourful programme for the day depicting Indian culture in its various hues.
