St Mary's School Pune

Boys of Std 8 visited Prayatna School for the differently abled children, on the 30th of January 2017.

They were divided into groups of five and they began interacting with the children of this school. Some Art & Craft activities were carried out with the students. The boys of Class 8 also had a cooking session with these children. At the end of the visit some music was played and all the students along with our boys started dancing. It was an enriching and enjoyable experience the boys had with the Differently abled students of Prayatna.

On Saturday the 30th of July 2016, the boys of classes 9 and 10 paid a visit to the Gurudwara to interact with the specially abled group of young adults from Nav Kshitij. At the Gurudwara they had a brief prayer session, where they were told about the teachings of Guru Nanak and Guru Gobind Singh.

The specially abled group put up a play on Organ Donation. The boys interacted with this group very closely and were very inspired by the way this challenged group made an effort to overcome their disabilities.

After that there was a Langar where the boys of the school served food to all there. It was a very special day and an enriching learning experience for the students of St. Mary’s School.

On the 8th of October 2016, the boys of Classes 7 and 8 visited the Centre of Life Sciences, Health and Medicine located at Undri, Pune. They were shown a presentation on the brain and how neurons work. They were also shown effects of Autism and Down’s syndrome. They met several children facing these problems and interacted with them. They put up a short musical show for them. All in all it was a learning experience for the boys.
