The students of St. Mary’s School celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and joie de vivre on 2nd September, 2016. Students from all sections organized a variety of programmes for their beloved teachers.
In the Girls’ section, the celebrations included a play, dance and a medley of songs by the Choir. The girls portrayed the influence of a teacher’s guiding hand in different stages of a student’s life through a street play. The classical dancers put up a flawless fusion of Kathak and Bharatnatyam. Accompanying the songs was a PowerPoint Presentation with the photographs of all the teachers. The doting students had also organized a game of Treasure Hunt and a delicious spread of goodies for the teachers.
The boys of Class X organised a special assembly in honour of the teachers.There were speeches, poems and songs presented by the senior boys as well as the junior boys. The little students of the Preparatory section expressed their gratitude to the teachers in Song. The Junior College students showed their love and respect through a recitation of verse.
The Principal Mrs Mallickumar felicitated each and every teacher on the occasion with special mementoes to mark the 150th year celebrations!
